2008 Festival Now a Memory

The members of the Pottery Festival Committee are just now catching up on their sleep and filing away the final details of the 2008 Festival which include record attendance and a darn good time all around.  There’s no such thing as perfect, and areas that need improvement in 2009 have been noted.  If you’re interested in helping with this now 44 year old festival, and you live in the Perry County area, e-mail us, or attend a meeting.

This year’s festival would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors both financially and through gifts and labor.  Our gratitude, loyalty and a thank you letter are all we have to reward these businesses and individuals for their community service, and that’s not nearly enough.  You’ll find links to most of our sponsors in our sidebar, if you enjoyed this year’s festival, please click over there and let them know their contribution did not go unnoticed.  A proper list will be posted here in our next post.

Stop back throughout the year, as details for 2009 are finalized, and pictures from 2008 are processed, we’ll have it all posted here.

Pottery Festival…..I and many others I know, have felt it was a very bad idea to separate the entertainment section of the pottery festival from the pottery museum. Although it’s clear to me why this was done many feel it would greatly benefit you to put the two back together. There were many many people at the entertainment part while there were not many at all at the museum part of this. Are the River Valley Boys still performing at the pottery festival entertainment venue? If so, what dates and times? Thanks.
