Rising Star Scheduled for the Pottery Festival

Woo HOO!  Exciting news for  Joe Zelek!  He and his band are finalists in the Y108/Kenny Chesney “Next Big Star” competition.  Voting is going on now at Y108.com.  The four groups with the highest votes will compete live at the Hard Rock Cafe in Pittsburgh to decide who will open for Kenny Chesney at his concert on  the Main Stage at Heinz Field on June 14th.  Vote now to get The Joe Zelek Band to the Hard Rock and then bring your lawn chair and see them live at the Pottery Festival on July 10th!

Potters and Pottery at the Festival

The pottery industry, to members of the festival committee, is more than just a collection of our friends and neighbors manufacturing a product.  Here in the clay capital of the world they represent our lifeblood.  The two small Ohio Villages of Crooksville and Roseville are home to ten businesses and industrys that use clay as the foundation of their work:  The Burley Clay Co., Beaumont Pottery, New Burley Winter, The Dale Hague Pottery, Petroware, Heritage Stoneware, iPress Stoneware,CERCO, Acco, and the  Stoneware Palace.  You can see all of them, plus one of the fastest growing potteries from Zanesville, Hartstone,  and a hand picked selection of the state’s finest art potters, in one convenient location, at the Pottery Festival on July 10th-13th, 2008.

Beautiful.  Made in America.  Lead free.  Environmentally friendly.  Oven, freezer, dishwasher and microwave safe.  That’s the description of my locally made dinner ware.  What’s in your dish drainer?
